odoo.sh alternative
An honest comparison. We also tell you where odoo.sh is strong.
erpdock is not a platform and not a panel. It is operations with failover.
odoo.sh bills per worker: EUR 48.00 per worker per month, plus EUR 0.16 per GB of storage and EUR 12.00 per staging environment - on top of the Enterprise license (calculator on odoo.sh/pricing, annual billing in EUR, as of 11 October 2026). At erpdock, workers are part of the plan, not the meter.
Worker recycling: idle workers are terminated, long-living connections do not survive it (odoo.sh FAQ)
odoo.sh explicitly does not back up staging and development builds (odoo.sh FAQ)
no PG extensions, GitHub only, no DE/AT data center
A feature list says little about what happens when things go wrong. Six cases that cost your customers money - the odoo.sh column quotes the published sources, not our summary.
| Case | odoo.sh | erpdock |
|---|---|---|
| The server dies | Restore from backup. Targets for a single-server failure: RPO 24 hours, RTO 6 hours - explicitly "not legally binding guarantees" (Odoo Cloud SLA). | Your VM starts automatically on another node of the cluster. The data is unchanged. Read it in the SLA. |
| The data center goes down | RPO 24 hours, RTO 24 hours, restored from backup in another data center (Odoo Cloud SLA). | Restart from backup at the second site. Target time is in the range of hours, the data state is the last backup. We do not have cross-site operation without interruption, and we say so up front. Read it in the SLA. |
| Ransomware runs inside your instance | Daily backup of the production instance, 14 full backups over 3 months, restore handled by Odoo. Staging and development builds are explicitly not backed up (odoo.sh FAQ). | Backups are taken below the VM, at hypervisor level. Malware running inside the VM cannot reach them. Database dumps come on top. |
| Your customer asks for a DPA and proof of availability | 99.9 % monthly uptime target, but explicitly "not legally binding guarantees" and no service credit in the document (Odoo Cloud SLA). The hosting provider and the data center locations within a zone are "not contractually guaranteed" (odoo.sh FAQ). | SLA with service credits, measured per instance and per calendar month instead of averaged across the platform (SLA). Data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR with exactly one subprocessor, located in Vienna (DPA). |
| Your Odoo version turns 3.5 years old | Once a version is 3 years and 6 months old, a 25 % surcharge is applied to the subscription automatically. Odoo 14 will be removed from odoo.sh on 31 October 2026 (odoo.sh FAQ). | No version fee. You decide when to upgrade. |
| You want to host Community Edition | Not possible. Access requires a partnership subscription or an Enterprise subscription that includes odoo.sh (odoo.sh FAQ). | Yes, on the same infrastructure and on every plan. |

| Run by the vendor | no - independent operator from Austria. In return, no lock-in: standard Odoo, data export at any time (Terms, section 13) | yes - Odoo SA runs the platform itself. odoo.sh will exist for as long as Odoo does |
Fair is fair: odoo.sh has a mature developer experience and is run by Odoo SA itself. As the vendor's own platform it comes with a continuity that an independent operator cannot offer. If you accept GCP, Enterprise-only and per-worker billing, it is a solid product. We are for everyone who wants control, data residency and a fair flat price.
Comparing against a panel rather than odoo.sh? The same six cases, with sources, are in the CloudPepper alternative.
erpdock is an EU-sovereign odoo.sh alternative from Vienna: dedicated VMs on every plan instead of shared workers (on odoo.sh the default is shared operation, dedicated hosting is a separate mode), Community and Enterprise (odoo.sh requires an Enterprise or partnership subscription), shell access, a data center in Austria and a fair flat price instead of per-worker billing.
On a shared platform, many customers compete for the same resources: load spikes from other tenants slow down your Odoo. odoo.sh also recycles workers - per its FAQ, idle workers are terminated "after a reasonable amount of time", and long-living connections do not survive that recycling. For long imports, job runners or month-end closing that is a real difference. A dedicated VM reserves compute and memory exclusively for your production instance: predictable performance, no noisy neighbors, your own database and clean data isolation. Your staging environments run on the same VM. At erpdock this is standard on every plan.
Yes. We handle the move including a test migration on staging. If your instance is not running within 48 hours, we keep working for free until it is.
odoo.sh bills per worker (EUR 48.00 per worker per month on annual billing, as of 11 October 2026), plus storage and staging, on top of the Enterprise license. At erpdock, workers are included in the plan.
Yes. odoo.sh hosts Enterprise only. At erpdock, Community Edition runs fully managed on every plan.
A partner asked us this, and it is a fair question. odoo.sh is run by the vendor itself: the platform will exist for as long as Odoo does. That is not true for an independent operator like us, and it is a real advantage of odoo.sh. What we commit to instead is the way out: we run unmodified Odoo on PostgreSQL, with no format of our own. You can export your data in a common format at any time during the term (Terms, section 13) and keep working on any other Odoo hosting or on your own server. Your Enterprise license is a contract between you and Odoo anyway, not with us.
